According to the latest Madrid WCC (Madrid World Capital of Construction, Engineering and Architecture) ranking, Pamplona has become the leader in quality of life in Spain, successfully displacing Vigo from first place. Vigo was chosen as the national leader in quality of life in May 2022. This was done based on an analysis of Spaniards' reviews of life in the city, conducted by OCU.
Extremely positive opinions were noted about public safety, medical and educational services, mobility and transport infrastructure, environmental friendliness and a wide range of leisure facilities. Low prices on the local real estate market, a dynamic labor market, and affordable living costs were also noted.
MWCC, in turn, decided to use data from Numbeo, the world's largest database and platform for comparing the quality and cost of living between countries and their individual regions. Based on this data, Pamplona emerged as the leader in Spain. The capital of Navarre stood out in six indicators: population income and cost of living, housing affordability, ecology, safety, infrastructure, and healthcare.
Also, based on Numbeo, an interesting top five is formed. Behind Pamplona are LogroƱo, Oviedo, Santander, Burgos, and Valencia. The latter is the undisputed leader in the development of transport infrastructure. Cartagena, the most favorable city in terms of cost of living, and Caceres, the most favorable city in terms of housing prices, are also noted. Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Ceuta and Santa Cruz de Tenerife stand out for their climate. Palma, as well as the already mentioned Oviedo and Cartagena, stand out for having the best offer of health care and insurance in the country.
